Hospitalisation

When does a pet need to be hospitalised?

We will suggest hospitalisation for your pet if they need specialised care due to severe illness, or injury or after an operation, so we can closely monitor their recovery. This will allow us to do all necessary tests quickly, assess their condition and spot any complications which are common in emergencies.

What does a hospital unit at NoviVet look like?

Our hospital unit has separate areas for dogs and cats. Each pet has a dedicated space which is kept at the highest hygienic standards. This ensures that all patients stay as calm and comfortable as possible while our team looks after them.

What to expect when we hospitalise your pet?

During their stay at our hospital unit, our team will give them medications, provide treatments and monitor your pet’s progress.

Who will look after your pet when it’s hospitalised?

Your pet will receive lots of care from our vet nurses team who will keep them company and comfort them during their stay at our hospital. They will be regularly checked by our vets. We will contact you daily or whenever something significant happens and ask for your consent before changing your pet’s treatment plan.

Can you visit your pet while they are in the hospital?

Your visits should be coordinated with our team. We do our best to accommodate visit requests for pets that react well to seeing their owner and don’t get upset when they leave. We will always prioritise your pet’s best interest. If your pet is staying with us for a short time, a visit may not be necessary.
